21 – 24 July 2016
“First night in here? Well, you’ll get used to us. We’re a lively pub. Not going to ask you what you’re doing here, never do, that’s one of our rules”.
Taking place over the course of one evening in a typical Northern pub, Jim Cartwright’s Two features fourteen diverse characters played by just two actors, as various members of the local community pull up a stool and let us into their lives. It’s about people and the strength of the human spirit – stronger than anything on offer behind the bar.
“A brilliantly, surrealistically and comically poetic piece” – The Sunday Times
“this extraordinary gifted and original voice…populates the space with broad humour, dry wit and often shudderingly moving poetry.’ – Time Out
BY ARRANGEMENT WITH ORiGiNTM THEATRICAL, ON BEHALF OF SAMUEL FRENCH, LTD.
